Under a raintree yesterday, history was created when an 'emergency meeting' of the Perak State Assembly, was convened by Perak Speaker V. Sivakumar, in a vacant lot at 10.20am with the attendance of 27 assemblymen from Pakatan Rakyat, who had braved the heat from the scorching sun and the cheers of a crowd which had gathered to witness the event.

Onlookers seizing the photo opportunity were seen taking pictures with the raintree, which has been said to be decades old, when the meeting adjourned.
